| About the Project | O2 Marine has conducted annual sediment compliance monitoring surveys for Midwest Ports Authority (MWPA) since 2016, in accordance with the operational Environmental Licence for Geraldton Port and the Sediment Monitoring Program Sample and Analysis Plan developed by MWPA. Marine sediments were collected for analysis by commercial divers/marine scientists.
O2 Marine prepared comprehensive reports of the field survey, reviewed historical data, and provided recommendations for improving and refining the sampling program for future events following successful field sampling campaigns in 2016 and 2017. MWPA sediment compliance monitoring commitments were addressed during these years. The project team learned valuable lessons regarding the scheduling of sampling activities in a busy operation Port, which resulted in a reduction in field survey time by applying significant survey efficiencies identified in 2016. |
