About the Project | Our Services
O2Marine was engaged to conduct all marine studies to inform environmental impact assessment and engineering design for a solar salt project on Mardie Station in the Pilbara WA. The studies included benthic habitat surveys, sediment sampling, bathymetry surveys, water quality baseline, Metocean baseline, mangrove health surveys, marine fauna investigations, underwater noise modelling and management plans. Outcome Throughout the engagement, O2’s scope of work evolved significantly, and the company became a trusted adviser on all aspects of the project’s marine environmental approvals. The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) recommended approval for the Mardie Project and released the EPA Report on 7 July 2021. More information on the project can be found on the EPA’s website at https://www.epa.wa.gov.au/proposals/mardie-project |
