Josh Abbott

Josh Abbott is the Senior Scientist working in the Environment and Inflight department at O2Marine in Fremantle.

Josh holds a Bachelor of Science majoring in Maritime Science and has over 14 years’ experience working as a marine scientist for coastal development and exploration projects in Western Australia. A typical field day for Josh is skipping the vessel in the remote Pilbara, undertaking water sampling and deploying/recovering our underwater monitoring sensors. An office day includes project management, processing field data, reporting and avoiding the temptation of Little Creatures down the road! His favourite thing about the job is the mix between office and field, but especially when he’s out on the water. During his 4 years with O2Marine, the project he’s been most proud of was undertaking remote Multispectral analysis via drone and assisting in capturing useful data at a reduced cost for the client. When Josh isn’t working, he still enjoys spending his down time out of the water surfing. He is also passionate about his family, music and the West Coast Eagles. The best piece of advice he’s ever been given is it’s better to be looking at it than for it. Pack lots of spares!
